Applicants for this position should first have a positive attitude and find joy in working with students. A Master’s Degree in counseling or a related field is required. A doctoral degree is preferred. Applicants will be expected to have or be willing to obtain a Utah teaching license. All potential employees must pass a background check.


Job Description and Function:

The District Mental Health Coordinator provides specialized services to students, school staff, community agencies, and other professionals. Services are designed to assist School Culture, Students, Families, and Educational Professionals, in providing quality positive behavioral prevention/interventions. These services allow students to reach their highest educational, developmental, and social potential. Duties of this position include implementation of social-emotional learning curriculum, student counseling, preventative interventions, family engagement, home visits, dropout prevention, etc. A full list of position duties can be requested by contacting the school principal or superintendent. All positions are subject to district policy #2063 and duties may be assigned, reassigned, or transfered by the principal or district administration. 


Salary and Compensation Package:

This position will be paid a negotiated salary for an expected 29 weekly hours during the school year. This position qualifies for retirement benefits and leave benefits according to district policy #2047.
