Super Monday Message

A huge Thank You to Piute County for supporting the bond for two new elementary schools. It’s a super exciting opportunity for our students and our community. In the coming months the school district will finalize the plans for the schools and conduct the procurement process for a general contractor.

As part of the process for finishing the design for the school buildings, the school district would like to invite parents to provide comments and ask questions about the plans at a public meeting. The current building floor plans can be viewed at this link, but changes are still expected to be made. The public meeting for the Oscarson Elementary School plans will be conducted at Oscarson Elementary School on Thursday November 21st at 6:00 PM. The meeting for Circleville Elementary School will be held at Circleville Elementary School on Thursday November 21st at 5:00 PM.

The timeline of construction events will start with constructing a new softball field at Piute High School in Junction. The new Circleville Elementary School will be located primarily on the current high school softball field in Circleville. It is hoped that the new softball field will be constructed in the spring and summer of 2025, allowing for the new grass to take root before the first season on the new field in the spring of 2026.

In late May or June construction will start on the new schools in Marysvale and Circleville. The two school buildings will be constructed at the same time. Prior to the start of construction in Marysvale, the gymnasium will be demolished. Construction of the two buildings is expected to be completed by the end of the 2026-2027 school year. School will be held at the current buildings through that time and precautions will be taken to ensure student safety while the new buildings are being constructed nearby. Students are expected to start the 2027-2028 school year in the new school buildings.

Upon the completion of the new buildings the old school buildings will be demolished. A new little league baseball field and soccer field are planned additions for the grounds of the new Circleville Elementary School. It’s not expected that construction of the elementary in Marysvale will disrupt the current baseball fields.

The groundbreaking ceremony would be tentatively scheduled for shortly after school gets out for summer 2025 and the ribbon cutting grand opening ceremony would be tentatively scheduled for August of 2027. These buildings will be a great asset to our communities and will be available for public use. We thank all the supporters of Piute County schools. Have the best week 15.

Super High Fives

Just a couple of the awesome recent accomplishments that need a big thank you. 

• Again, super high five to Piute County for approving two new elementary schools. Generations of students will benefit from the new schools and they will be a great addition to Piute County.
• A super high five to the girl’s basketball team and everyone else that helped make the annual Meet The T-Birds night a big success. It was a fun event and very well attended. We appreciate the community support and enthusiasm.
• A super high five to all the parents for participating in parent/teacher conferences last week and for being great partners in education. Taking opportunities to share and collaborate makes for better outcomes for students.
