Temporarily Digital Learning Information
Piute County School District schools will move to digital learning for two weeks starting Monday October 5th, 2020. Regular in-person learning will resume on Wednesday October 21st, 2020. Each school will provide additional information for the transition to and from online learning.
As of October 6th at 1:29 PM between students and employees the school district had 6 positive cases, 61 individuals quarintined, and 10 individuals isolated.
The reason for this change is that though we do not have a large number of cases, our schools have had a difficult time operating with such a large number of absences by faculty, staff, and students. Over 60 Piute High School students were absent on Friday October 2nd for quarantines, isolations, and other illnesses. The high school has had difficulty finding enough substitutes to fill in for all the teachers and staff that have either been quarantined or requested leave for illness.
Those with questions may contact the school principal or your child’s teacher. We apologize for the suddenness of this change and thank you for your patience as we try to continue education under these conditions.
School Meals
School meals will be available as grab and go meals between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM. Students residing in Circleville may pick up meals at Circleville Elementary, students residing in Marysvale may pick up meals at Oscarson Elementary, and students residing in Junction, Kingston, Antimony, Greenwich, and Koosharem may pick up meals at Piute High School.
Extracurricular Activities
Baseball and cross country practices and games will continue under the UHSAA guidelines. The volleyball team will resume practice on Monday October 12th. The Pink Game may have to be rescheduled again. More information will be available soon.
