Piute County School District,
I hope everyone had a fun teacher appreciation week. We have the best people.
Last week’s story illustrated the power of knowledge, but it’s not just about having it; It’s also about applying it and mastering it. We can possess knowledge about something without having applied or mastered it. The application of knowledge builds neural pathways in our brains that allows for quicker recall. We most frequently refer to this process as “practice.” The best time to build these pathways is when we are young, but even old dogs can learn new tricks.
This is a fun video to illustrate how we build these pathways with even the simplest skills.

Teachers help students build those neural pathways and as they practice and apply that knowledge they master new skills.
Have a great week 37,
Koby
