5005 - School Year

SEMESTER BASIS	The district shall operate on a quarter or semester basis and shall adhere to the requirements of the appropriate curriculum prepared by the State Board.
BEGINNING DATE	Student attendance for the first semester of the regular school term shall be established by the Board of Education pursuant to a calendar adopted annually
LENGTH OF SCHOOL YEAR	The schools of the district shall be in operation for the following number of days during each school year: 1.Not fewer than 180 days of student instruction. 2.Not fewer than 2 days of in-service training and preparation for teachers.
EXCEPTIONS	The Board of Education may approve the operation of schools for less than the number of instructional and in-service days specified above when disaster, flood, extreme weather conditions, fuel curtailments, or other calamities have caused the closing of schools.
