Applicants for this position should first have a positive attitude and find joy in working with special needs children. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and a Special Education teaching license or be willing to obtain a Special Education teaching license. All employees must pass an educator background check.
Job Description and Function:
The successful applicant will be expected first to be a quality role model for young people. The successful applicant will be responsible for all of the teaching duties outlined in district policy #1138. The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting the Special Education program for Utah Peak Academy under the direction of the Special Education director, Heather Fautin. This position is expected to be mostly online with monthly training days and team meetings in person in Junction. The portion of time permitted to be worked online may be modified by administration. The successful applicant will also complete other job duties as assigned by administration.
Compensation:
This position is paid a salary based on education and years of experience according to the school district salary schedule. The expected salary range for this position is $56,000-$76,000. This position includes a standard family health insurance package with 100% of the premium paid by the school district. This position includes Utah Retirement Systems benefits and 10 annual days of paid leave as explained in district policy #2047. This position may qualify for additional compensation for Special Education teachers based on the credentials of the successful applicant.
