Qualifications:
Piute County School District is seeking a passionate, licensed educator with a K-6 or K-12 Endorsement in an Art (Music preferred) to implement the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program (BTS Arts). If not already a licensed educator, the successful candidate will be expected to become licensed. The music educator will build student and educator capacity by developing integrated lessons that connect music standards with other core subjects (math, literacy, science). The goal is to develop a learning environment where students enhance their creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Job Description and Function:
The successful applicant will be expected to coordinate student needs with teachers and other staff, prepare and deliver integrated, engaging music lessons based on the Utah State Fine Arts Core Standards, and partner side-by-side with K-6 classroom teachers to support the integration of music into their weekly curriculum. They will also provide high-quality music instruction that facilitates active learning experiences, assist and train other educators in utilizing arts pedagogies within their daily teaching, and monitor and document student progress in both music skills and integrated core subject areas.
Compensation:
This position is paid at a starting hourly rate determined by Lane 1 and Level 1 of the school district salary schedule. This rate is $39.73/hour for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is expected to work up to 20 hours each week. Weekly hours will be set and modified by the principal.
